FIRST STEP TO PLAN YOUR DESTINATION WEDDING

conversation with destination wedding planner
This article is from our conversation with destination wedding planner that you can see in the video or read below
- Hello guys, this is me, Lana Karalus, and I'm videographer based in Paris. And today I am here with a wedding planner, Katerina Meyvial.

- Hi guys, my name is Katerina Meyvial.
I'm a Paris-based wedding planner operating in Paris region and in Provence. And I plan weddings for couples from all over the world.

- What would be the first step to plan your destination wedding?

- So the first thing to do would be to define your destination.
I have got requests from couples who are still hesitating between Italy, France, Greece, Caribbean, you name it. So you need to find the destination that resonates the best with the desired environment and the ambience that you would like to create for your events.

- And you said about the vibes of the couple, the logistics.
What do you think, what's important also?

- Logistics is very important and in every single country and even in every region the logistics will be very different. For instance, I can talk about weddings in Paris and wedding in Provence area and these would be two completely different experiences. Whereas in Paris you would tend to have two or three day events where every single day you would change your location and you would treat your guests to very different experience that could be like a boat ride on the first day, great reception in the chateau near the city, near Paris on the second day and maybe like a farewell brunch or a tour to Champagne area on the third day.
Whereas in Provence you would need to reserve your venue for at least two or three days which means that you will be celebrating and hosting all three events, welcome event, wedding reception and the farewell brunch in one location. So the first step, what is your destination? What suits you the best? Choose your country, choose your region and then you can start looking for a planner who operates in this area.

- We’ve been working with Katerina a few times but I know that you've been working  in Paris since very long time.
Can you please present a little bit your work?

- Sure, so I've been planning destination weddings from couples from all over the world since 2016. We've been to Covid, we made it, thank you guys for supporting us and thank you for choosing us to plan your beautiful celebrations. So I cover Paris, Parisian area and Provence and I do all sorts of events including multiple day celebrations for more than 100 guests and also very intimate gatherings for 4, 10, 20, 30 people in both Paris and Provence.

And actually today we are filming this video in a very beautiful hotel based in Paris which is one of my favorite locations for intimate weddings with up to 30 guests. So if you are guys looking for a nice place where you can host the ceremony with a nice view you have to check Marignan Hotel in Paris.
